China Eastern launches the longest flight in the world: 29 hours in the air.
According to inkorr.com: Chinese airline China Eastern Airlines plans to launch the world's longest passenger flight, which will last 29 hours. The first flight is scheduled for December 4, and tickets are already available for purchase. This announcement contains information from the publication 'Glavkom' with reference to Express.
The new route connects the Chinese city of Shanghai and the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, covering a distance of 12,200 miles (approximately 19,634 km). Despite the duration of the flight, it is considered 'direct' because passengers will not need to change planes during the stop in Auckland, New Zealand.
Why is the flight considered direct if there is a stop? The fact is that even with a stopover in Auckland, passengers remain on the same plane.
Ticket Prices
The approximate cost of a ticket from Buenos Aires to Shanghai is over £1,400, while a ticket from Shanghai to Buenos Aires costs around £1,280. However, prices may vary depending on sources.
Strategic Importance of the Route
This route has not only commercial but also strategic significance, as it could strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between China and the countries of South America. The airline plans to operate flights twice a week on a Boeing 777-300ER, designed for long-distance flights.
By the way, an American Airlines plane interrupted its flight due to a bird strike in the USA.
Additionally, from September 10 to December 9, there are restrictions on air traffic in the eastern part of Poland along the borders with Belarus and Ukraine.
The opening of the passenger flight between Shanghai and Buenos Aires will not only set a new record but also contribute to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between China and the countries of South America. This long flight will also impact the commercial activities of China Eastern Airlines and emphasize its strategic partnership in the international aviation community.
