Cocoa beans exceeded cryptocurrencies and the stock market in profitability in 2024

According to a MarketWatch report, in 2024, the price of cocoa beans reached a record 11,954 dollars per metric ton, representing a growth of 185%. This growth proved to be greater than that of Bitcoin (128%) and the S&P 500 index (25%).

Experts predict further rapid price increases for cocoa beans due to a record supply deficit in the market, the largest in the last 60 years. This deficit was a result of the conclusion of the 2023-2024 agricultural season.
