Cherkasy Resident Falsified Combatant Certificate: What Punishment the Court Imposed.
A resident of the Cherkasy region decided to falsify a combatant certificate to obtain benefits. This was reported in the verdict of the Cherkasy District Court, which was issued on August 5.
According to court materials, the defendant's son received a combatant certificate from the personnel department of the Naval Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In order to be able to use public transport for free, the man glued his photo into the document.
At the end of June of this year, the forged certificate was discovered by a police officer who was checking the suspect's documents. After this, a criminal proceeding was opened against the man, and the case was forwarded to the court.
Court Decision
After reviewing the case, the court imposed a punishment on the defendant in the form of one year and three months of restriction of liberty with a one-year probation period. The deadline for filing an appeal against this verdict is 30 days. In the event of an appeal, the case will be reviewed by the Cherkasy Court of Appeal.
In a small village in Cherkasy, a resident attempted to fraudulently take advantage of benefits by falsifying documents for participation in combat actions. It was discovered that he had glued his photo into the forged certificate, but the police promptly uncovered this deception, which led to judicial punishment against him.
