In Mykolaiv region, the TCC is suspected of illegal detention and torture: an investigation is ongoing

According to ТСН: In the Voznesensk district of Mykolaiv region, police have initiated a criminal proceeding based on a man's statement about illegal deprivation of liberty and infliction of bodily harm.

According to law enforcement, on January 6, a 40-year-old man contacted the Voznesensk district police department, stating that from December 25, 2025, to January 6, 2026, he was allegedly held against his will and subjected to physical violence by servicemen from one of the territorial recruitment and social support centers.

As a result, investigators have started a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal deprivation of liberty or abduction of a person, accompanied by causing physical suffering. Currently, investigative and operational measures are underway to clarify all circumstances and identify individuals involved in the possible crime.

Reaction of the Mykolaiv TCC

The Mykolaiv regional territorial recruitment and social support center confirmed that they are aware of this incident and have already commenced an internal investigation. The purpose of the inspection is to objectively clarify all circumstances, establish the participants in the event, and determine their responsibility. Representatives of the TCC and SS emphasized their readiness for full cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

“The leadership's position is unequivocal: if it is proven during the investigation that the servicemen of the TCC and SS exceeded their authority or committed unlawful acts against the citizen, they will face the harshest punishment provided by law,” the regional TCC and SS stated.

The agency also urged the public to wait for the results of the internal investigation and the official conclusions of law enforcement agencies.

Recall that earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation detained a serviceman from the security platoon of the district TCC and SS in Ivano-Frankivsk region, who, together with the commander, tortured military conscripts. One of the victims sustained serious injuries, leading to the need for the removal of an internal organ.

This case underscores the seriousness of the situation regarding human rights compliance in military units. The investigation aims to ensure justice and put an end to similar acts of violence. The public will be monitoring the developments, as it is important for all those guilty to be held accountable.
