In the Vinnytsia region, a man was not accepted for service in three military units, but the court recognized his evasion and sentenced him to three years in prison.

According to the verdict of the Tomashpil District Court of Vinnytsia region, a man who received a deferment from mobilization due to his wife and child must now serve a sentence for evading service in the Armed Forces.

Details of the case

The court established that in 2023, the man was recognized as fit for mobilization but refused to serve. After a series of events, including being taken to military units where he was rejected, the man admitted his guilt.

'In the premises of the RTC and SP, he was given documents to undergo the military medical commission, he passed the commission and by morning was already in the Mykolaiv region. He claimed that he was illegally detained and subjected to violence. He was taken around military units in the Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Vinnytsia regions, and everywhere he was refused as they did not want to accept him.'
, — this is how the events were described in the case materials.

The court established the man's guilt under the corresponding article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment.

This case is just one of many where courts in Ukraine have punished individuals for evading mobilization. Such sentences are aimed at ensuring the absence of evasion from mandatory service in the Armed Forces.
