The Situation with the Supply of Tomahawk Missiles to Ukraine

According to ТСН: The United States government considered the possibility of transferring long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, but this initiative was halted at the highest level. President Donald Trump refused to approve this supply.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor confirmed that the U.S. Department of Defense had prepared for a decision on providing these missiles. He noted:

“I'll tell you this: The Pentagon was prepared for the president's decision regarding the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. They were fully ready.”

Although Donald Trump did not sanction the supply of missiles, William Taylor noted that the possibility of their delivery remains relevant today. He believes that the Tomahawk missiles could have not only military but also significant political importance:

“I believe it would be important—not as a decisive factor in the war, but as a significant element of pressure on Putin.”

In September, U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance acknowledged that the U.S. is indeed discussing Ukraine's request for Tomahawk.

Preliminary information from the Pentagon confirmed that the U.S. Department of Defense received a “green light” for potential supplies of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.

However, President Trump later stated that “he cannot give Ukraine all the weapons.” He explained that the United States also needs these missiles in the context of requests from Kyiv.

Discussions about supplying Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine have entered a critical phase, as these systems could significantly influence the balance of power in the region. The issue of their transfer remains relevant, and Washington continues to assess all possible options, considering both military and political aspects. At the same time, the situation underscores the importance of American support for Ukraine amid rising threats from Russia.
