Massive attack on Kyiv: which districts are experiencing emergency power outages

According to ТСН: The energy facilities of Kyiv and the region have suffered serious damage due to massive attacks from Russia. This has led to significant differences in the electricity supply situation in various districts of the capital. Currently, the city is implementing both strict emergency restrictions and planned stabilization schedules, depending on the state of local infrastructure and the extent of the damage.

According to DTEK, the most difficult situation has developed on the left bank of the capital, where the largest part of the system was damaged. To avoid serious accidents, emergency shutdowns have been introduced in the Svyatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi districts.

"The electricity situation in different districts of the capital is currently different. Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, left bank — the system has suffered the most here, so emergency shutdowns are in strict mode. The same situation exists in parts of Holosiivskyi and Pecherskyi districts. Emergency shutdowns are also applied here," emphasized DTEK, commenting on the complexities of restoration work.

A better situation is observed in the Obolonskyi, Podilskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts, where energy workers have managed to adhere to stabilization schedules. However, low temperatures negatively affect the stability of electricity supply, increasing the number of local damages.

"If the power has not appeared as scheduled, there is most likely damage in your part of the network," explain energy workers.

DTEK noted that all efforts of specialists are focused on stabilizing the system and minimizing emergencies caused by overloads in cold weather conditions.

What is known about the situation in Kyiv

After the massive attack, the situation in Kyiv remains complicated. Interruptions with heating and water are characteristic of the city.

There are also reports of targeted attacks on heating plants in Kyiv, resulting in electricity outages and water supply issues due to damage to substations, lines, and generation facilities.

As a result of the night attack on January 9 on the left bank of Kyiv, emergency power outages were introduced.

Kyiv residents also complain about the closure of large chain supermarkets due to prolonged electricity outages.

According to previously provided information, almost 800 houses remain without heating.

In addition, DTEK reported emergency electricity shutdowns in parts of the Solomianskyi and Svyatoshynskyi districts of Kyiv to prevent accidents and network overloads.

The situation in Kyiv's energy sector remains tense. Efforts continue to restore electricity supply and stabilize the system to quickly resume normal life for the residents of the capital. In cold weather, it is important to maintain control over energy resources to ensure the safety and comfort of all residents of Kyiv.
