Groundhog Day 2025: the American 'brother' of Timka has made a prediction.

In the city of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, the American groundhog Phil predicts that spring warming will arrive late this year.

This is Phil's 139th prediction, and he has been correct only 39% of the time. The lifespan of a groundhog continues to be extended each year thanks to a magical elixir.

The tradition of predicting the arrival of spring through the behavior of a groundhog originates from Germany, but there a badger served as the weather forecaster. In Pennsylvania, there are no badgers, so the role was taken over by Punxsutawney Phil.

In Ukraine, there is also a groundhog - Tymko III. His prediction for next year anticipates a delay in the arrival of spring, but notes that there will be minor frosts and snowfalls.
