SBU exposed FSB agents: a female deputy with children received 15 years

According to ТСН: The court sentenced three members of the FSB agent group: they were sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. Among the convicted are a local deputy and her two children. The Security Service of Ukraine discovered their activities in June 2024, when they were coordinating strikes in Khmelnytskyi.

According to the SBU, the group included a local council deputy, her 43-year-old son, and her 38-year-old daughter. They transmitted information to Russian special services for missile and drone attacks on western Ukraine.

Actions of the agents

The investigation established that the agents tracked combat positions and routes of mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces to help the enemy avoid Ukrainian air defense. They were also interested in the locations of military units, equipment, and warehouses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"During reconnaissance, the mother and daughter secretly photographed military facilities, while the son marked the corresponding points on Google Maps. The SBU's counterintelligence discovered the Russian agent network in advance, documented their crimes, and detained all individuals involved when they were spying near the base of Ukrainian defenders," the SBU noted.

Court decision

It is known that the former deputy was recruited by the FSB more than a year ago. Russian special services took notice of her pro-Kremlin comments on the social network 'Odnoklassniki,' after which she involved her children in the collaboration, and together they carried out tasks for Russia.

The court found all three guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — high treason during a state of war. The investigation was conducted by SBU employees in the Khmelnytskyi region under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor's office.

In addition, the Svyatoshyn District Court in Kyiv selected preventive measures for three individuals suspected of large-scale fraud, as a result of which one person lost valuables worth about 37.5 million hryvnias.

In Kyiv, a fake bank employee deceived a 75-year-old pensioner, seizing 64 thousand hryvnias using a 'vishing' scheme, employing SIP telephony to spoof the number. Law enforcement announced the suspect in two crimes.

This case highlights the seriousness of the threat associated with high treason, especially in the context of military aggression. Revealing such agent networks is an important step in ensuring Ukraine's national security. On the other hand, the fraud case demonstrates how crucial it is to be cautious in financial matters, especially for elderly people who become victims of scammers.
