Pension Fund changes payment rules for sick children: who will receive up to 6.4 thousand UAH.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) announced changes in payments for children who are sick but do not have disabilities, during the summer of 2025. This state assistance provides for a payment of up to 6.4 thousand UAH.
The new rules apply to children with diseases such as oncology, oncohematological diseases, perinatal damage to the nervous system, congenital developmental defects, rare diseases, diabetes, and other severe conditions.
Changes in the payment system for children
Since July 2025, the PFU management has taken on the function of appointing and paying state assistance for this category of children. The conditions for receiving assistance are defined by the government's resolution 'On Approval of the Procedure for Appointing and Paying State Assistance to Families with Children.'
Conditions and amounts of assistance
To receive assistance, parents must have a certificate from a doctor about the child's illness, approved by the Ministry of Health, and the absence of a disability determination. Payments are appointed for six months and do not depend on other types of state assistance.
The amount of assistance is established at the level of two subsistence minimums for children of the relevant age: up to 6 years – 5126 UAH, from 6 to 18 years – 6392 UAH.
Such changes in the assistance system are aimed at making life easier for families with sick children and providing them with the necessary support during the difficult period of illness.
