Zaporizhzhia NPP has once again lost power supply: what happened this time.
According to inkorr.com: On September 23, Tuesday, a new emergency occurred at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). This is the tenth blackout at the station since its occupation by Russian troops. This was reported by the portal 'Glavkom' referring to information from the Ministry of Energy.
'Today at 16:56, the only power transmission line, through which the Zaporizhzhia NPP received power from the Ukrainian energy system, was disconnected. The NPP switched to power supply from its own needs using diesel generators. This is a significant violation of the normal operating conditions of the station,' the message states.
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that such outages are a consequence of shelling by Russia and damage to energy infrastructure during the occupation. The incident that occurred today once again proves the threat to safety at the NPP.
Demands to Russia
The Ministry of Energy urges the international community to take decisive action regarding the Russian occupation of the station. They believe that regaining control over the NPP by Ukraine is the only way to ensure nuclear safety in the region. Earlier, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) also called on Russia to demilitarize and free the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
As a result of the occupation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP by Russian troops, security and energy supply stability issues are constantly arising. The Ministry of Energy and other organizations are calling for urgent measures to return control over the station to Ukraine to ensure its normal operation and nuclear safety in the region.
The situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP remains critical. In addition to numerous power outages, this creates serious risks for safety not only in Ukraine but also throughout Europe. Regaining control over the station and international support are extremely important to ensure stability in the energy sector and prevent potential emergencies in the future.
