Ukraine's Military Registration Must Be Done In Person: A Guide for Relocated Citizens.
In-Person Registration Required for Ukrainians Who Have Moved
According to Novyny.live: All eligible citizens in Ukraine are required by law to be registered for military service at their place of residence. For internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have left the city where they were originally registered, this creates a significant procedural challenge. It is crucial to understand that remote or online military registration is not an option under current regulations.
Failure to register at a new location can lead to serious legal consequences. Lawyer Yuriy Aivazian has emphasized that resolving military registration matters from a distance is impossible.
“Unfortunately, this cannot be done remotely,” he stated.Aivazian also noted that individuals who have already secured a formal deferment from mobilization can personally visit a Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) without major issues to update their details. This system is a key part of Ukraine's ongoing defense mobilization efforts.
Required Steps for Those Who Have Changed Residence
Therefore, individuals who have relocated must urgently visit their local TCC to complete the registration process. Neglecting this obligation can create complications for any future military service requirements.
This situation highlights the critical importance of adhering to military registration laws, especially for IDPs who may find themselves in complex legal circumstances. Given that registration is mandatory, timely action at the appropriate authorities is essential to avoid potential problems related to mobilization and military duty.
