State Support for Children Without Child Support: Maximum Payouts Revealed.
Ukraine's Temporary State Assistance for Children
According to Novyny.live: In Ukraine, children whose parents evade child support payments are eligible for temporary state financial aid. This assistance is granted to minors under a resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine titled 'On Approval of the Procedure for Assigning and Paying Temporary State Assistance to Children Whose Parents Evade Child Support.' The initiative is designed to provide a safety net for children facing financial hardship due to a parent's failure to meet their obligations. It reflects the government's effort to address a pressing social issue, where many families struggle with unpaid support.
Eligibility Criteria and Payment Amounts
To qualify for this aid, applicants must submit the child's birth certificate, an income declaration, and income statements. The maximum monthly payment is 2,563 hryvnias for children under 6 years old, and 3,196 hryvnias for those aged 6 to 18. Importantly, the benefit cannot fall below 50% of the subsistence minimum for a child of the corresponding age. This ensures a baseline level of financial security for vulnerable children.
Disbursements occur on a monthly basis. For individuals with Group I or II disabilities, as well as children with disabilities, the maximum payout reaches up to 960 hryvnias. The application process requires a specific set of documents, including:
- Copies of the child's birth certificate
- Income declarations
- Income statements
Additional paperwork may be necessary, such as:
- A statement for parent identification
- A copy of the court order for child support
- A certificate regarding criminal proceedings
- A notice confirming the father's unknown place of residence
This temporary state assistance program represents a critical step in supporting children who suffer from parental neglect of financial duties. By providing essential financial aid, it aims to improve the quality of life for children in difficult circumstances.
