Financial Aid for Children with Disabilities in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: In partnership with UNICEF, Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy has launched a one-time financial assistance initiative for children classified under disability subgroup A across nine regions. The program is designed to support nearly 9,000 children whose special needs require additional resources.
Each eligible child will receive a payment of 6,500 Ukrainian hryvnias. Disbursements will take place in the following regions:
- Chernihiv
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Donetsk
- Kharkiv
- Kherson
- Mykolaiv
- Odesa
- Sumy
- Zaporizhzhia
It is important to note that payments for each child will begin on January 1, 2026, under the eYasla program framework. This timeline ensures families can plan ahead for the support.
What This Program Means for Families
The initiative aims to provide extra financial relief to households raising children with disabilities, helping cover costs related to care, treatment, and development. By easing some of the financial burden, the program seeks to promote greater equity and inclusion for every child in Ukraine, especially those with the most severe needs.
Beyond the direct monetary assistance, this effort underscores the government’s commitment to social protection for vulnerable populations. It also signals a growing emphasis on inclusivity and equal opportunity within the country, potentially paving the way for broader reforms in social policy and disability support systems.
