Former military personnel can receive a 50% pension allowance: who is entitled.
Ukrainians who have completed military service and retired can receive an additional allowance to their payments. However, it is important to remember who exactly is entitled to this assistance.
According to information from 2025, the pension allowance is granted to military personnel and citizens who are entitled to pension payments. This applies to retirees with service records and individuals with disabilities.
Details on pension allowances for former military personnel
According to representatives of the Pension Fund in the Donetsk region, the pension allowance is calculated for non-working retirees and non-working citizens with disabilities who support non-working family members.
- for each non-working family member, the allowance amounts to 50% of the minimum subsistence level for persons who have lost their ability to work.
Procedure for calculating the allowance
The allowance can only be received for family members for whom the state does not provide any other types of assistance or pensions. There is also a rule that if a family has two or more retirees, only one of them will receive the allowance.
'If a person is entitled to several types of assistance or pensions simultaneously, they can choose which assistance or allowance they receive', representatives of the Pension Fund emphasized.To apply for the allowance, it is necessary to provide the Pension Fund with several documents, including a passport, identification code, documents proving family ties and support for non-working family members, as well as other documents confirming the absence of work or service.
An application for the pension allowance can be submitted via the Pension Fund's web portal.
It should also be noted that mothers of many children also have the right to a pension allowance. There are certain bonuses that Ukrainian women can claim, and a minimum pension is paid to various categories of citizens. Details on these matters can be found at the Pension Fund.
