General Biletsky in the UP100 ranking: how he is changing the army of Ukraine.
According to ТСН: Brigadier General Andrii Biletsky, commander of the Third Army Corps, has made it to the UP100 list – a hundred Ukrainians who shape the independence and future of Ukraine.
Biletsky's Experience and Initiatives
Major General Mykhailo Drapatiy, commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about his acquaintance with Biletsky when he led the Third Assault Brigade. After being appointed commander of the Ground Forces, Drapatiy approached Biletsky with a request to prepare proposals for improving management processes. According to Drapatiy, Biletsky prepared a detailed document with recommendations for reforming the recruitment system, training, and military bureaucracy.
Drapatiy emphasizes that he was able to implement ideas for forming command and enhancing internal processes, creating one of the most effective corps commands.
“In the military, it is always clear who creates the form and who creates the substance. Andrii creates the substance. That is why the decisions he makes today will become the norm for the entire army tomorrow... I rarely meet officers who live so much in what they do, who are so fanatically devoted to their people and their unit. He savors military affairs, history, and the life of war. At the same time, he stands with his feet on the ground – not detached from the problems and needs of his personnel,” wrote Drapatiy.
Characteristics of Biletsky
The general characterized Biletsky as initiative-driven, non-standard, and creative military personnel. His unconventional and sometimes daring thinking sets him apart during combat planning and operations development.
“Not all commanders change their units. Very few change approaches. And only a few change the army. Andrii is among the officers who are making global changes and building the Ukrainian military of the future,” believes Drapatiy.
Andrii Biletsky's inclusion in the UP100 list confirms his significance for the development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The initiatives he implements can serve as a foundation for further reforms in the army. With leaders like Biletsky, the Ukrainian army has a chance for effective changes and adaptation to modern challenges. This can positively affect its ability to perform tasks in the context of modern combat operations.
