Bashar Assad's Wife Is in Isolation Due to Relapse of Severe Illness.

The wife of Syrian President Bashar Assad, Asma Assad, is in critical condition due to worsening leukemia. Her health is deteriorating so much that doctors have decided to isolate her from others to avoid the risk of infection. This was reported by The Telegraph.
According to sources, Asma's father, Fawaz Akhras, has been caring for his daughter in Moscow, and now the Assad family is said to be 'devastated by grief.'
President Bashar Assad and his wife are in Moscow after their dictatorial regime lost power following a prolonged civil war lasting 13 years.
Earlier, the newspaper reported that Assad's wife began cancer treatment in Moscow a few weeks before her husband's appointment.
According to sources, Asma Assad has experienced a relapse of her illness and had to undergo treatment. In May 2024, she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. In 2019, she had already undergone surgery to remove a tumor that formed due to breast cancer.
The United Kingdom has refused to accept Bashar Assad's wife, although she holds British citizenship. Media reports had previously stated that Asma Assad filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage. She is reportedly disillusioned with life in Russia and wishes to move to London, where she was born.
It is also known that Asma al-Assad (née Akhras) was born on August 11, 1975, in London to a family of Syrian immigrants from the city of Homs. Her father, Fawaz Akhras, is a renowned cardiologist, and her mother, Sahar Akhras, worked as a diplomat at the Syrian embassy in London.
