Jamala Ukrainianized the New Year's Hit of Verka Serduchka: How it Sounds.
According to ТСН: Ukrainian singer and producer of the national selection for 'Eurovision-2026' Jamala performed the popular New Year's hit Verka Serduchka in Ukrainian.
Unexpected Jamala Cover
Although showman Andriy Danilko believes that his old songs cannot be translated into Ukrainian, Jamala took it upon herself. The artist unexpectedly adapted the hit 'Novogodnyaya', giving it a new sound. The translation is not literal, but the song retains its original message.
Creating a Festive Mood
As Jamala explained, this cover emerged spontaneously. According to her, despite the upcoming New Year 2026, she does not feel the festive mood, so she decided to create it herself.
“An absolutely unplanned cover. 'New Year'! But this year it’s particularly hard to have a festive mood, so we make it for ourselves. Thank you to my friends for this spontaneity! Happy upcoming New Year!”
Shchedryk Accompanied by Her Son
Recall that recently Jamala sang 'Shchedryk' with feeling, while her 7-year-old son accompanied her on the synthesizer.
Jamala has always been known for her creativity and innovativeness. Her new music projects continue to impress fans, and her recent adaptation of the New Year's hit has become yet another confirmation of her talent. The artist knows how to find inspiration even in difficult times, trying to convey positive emotions to her listeners.
