Emergency power outages in Ukraine: which regions have introduced restrictions.
Emergency power outages in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Emergency power outages have been introduced in Kyiv and the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the DTEK company.
Emergency outages have also been implemented in Poltava, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zhytomyr regions. The main reason for these measures is the consequences of attacks by Russian troops on the energy infrastructure.
It should be noted that as a result of Russian attacks, part of the Sumy community was left without electricity. 'Sumyoblenergo' reports that, at the direction of NEC 'Ukrenergo', schedules for emergency outages have been introduced in the Sumy region. Currently, schedules for power outages are in effect for the first, second, third, and fourth consumer groups.
Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure
On the night of October 10, Russia launched another massive strike against Ukrainian energy infrastructure. This strike occurred on the anniversary of the start of attacks on the energy system, which began in 2022. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia used over 450 drones and more than thirty missiles.
Also, on the night of October 14, a new attack on Ukraine occurred, focused mainly on energy facilities.
Zelensky noted that this winter may be a time when Ukraine starts importing electricity due to hostile strikes on energy infrastructure.
As a result of emergency power outages in Kyiv and other regions, the effects of Russian attacks are becoming increasingly noticeable for the population. The government is forced to take urgent measures to ensure energy security and restore the operation of affected facilities.
The situation surrounding energy infrastructure remains critical, especially in the winter season. Authorities urge the population to understand and assist each other, as energy restrictions may affect many Ukrainians. Currently, the work of all enterprises in the energy sector remains under constant control to minimize the impact of attacks on everyday life.
