The country's grid has been a repeated target of military strikes since the full-scale invasion began, compounding existing vulnerabilities.

Peak electricity demand on February 18th was 2.8% higher than the previous Tuesday, despite current consumption levels aligning with seasonal norms. In six regions—Mykolaiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava, and Kharkiv—458 settlements have lost power due to severe weather. Furthermore, new blackouts caused by shelling have been reported in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions as of the morning of February 19th.

In response, energy officials are urging citizens to adhere to electricity conservation guidelines.
