According to UATV: On February 11, defense ministers from European Union member states gathered in Brussels for a meeting focused on key collaborative efforts. The agenda included defense innovation, the training of Ukrainian military personnel, and financial assistance for Ukraine. A central topic was the discussion of a proposed €90 billion loan intended to bolster Ukraine's economy and military as the war continues. During the talks, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized the critical importance of training for Ukrainian troops. Kaja Kallas: 'Russia is not winning this war. Casualty numbers are rising, and the Russian economy is in decline. Therefore, we are of course discussing what more we can do to help Ukraine.'
The issue of funding remained a priority for attendees. Kallas stressed the urgency of approving the loan package, stating:
'Funding remains a problem. First of all, I also want to thank the European Parliament for its swift approval of the €90 billion loan.'Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur added that
'Naturally, we would like to see the provision of the €90 billion loan move forward as quickly as possible, because Ukraine needs it.'
