Evacuation in Yurkivka

According to TSN.ua: In the settlement of Yurkivka, located only 12 kilometers from the contact line, an ongoing evacuation is taking place due to threats from Russian drones and aircraft. Police officers and chaplains managed to rescue five individuals, including an elderly couple aged 83 and 86. The evacuees were transported to a transit center in Zaporizhzhia.

Critical Conditions

The situation in Yurkivka remains dire. The village lacks running water, medicine, and functioning shops, making life extremely difficult for the remaining residents. Daily enemy airstrikes and drone attacks make staying in the village perilous. Evacuation teams are forced to abandon their vehicles and proceed on foot due to the constant drone threat.

“We heard the sound of the first FPV drone and immediately scattered,” recalls Yevgeniy Tokarev.

Living in shelters has become the norm for locals: nights are spent in cabins, and during the day, people try to avoid drones that hunt for human targets.

“Yurkivka is a very dangerous place. We came under drone attack and barely survived,” says Ihor Kornienko.

Evacuation efforts continue, but the situation remains challenging due to the constant threat of aerial attacks.

The situation in Yurkivka highlights the hardships faced by civilians during war, especially under the constant danger of air strikes. Although evacuation operations are ongoing, they cannot fully address the lack of essential resources like water and medicine. This case underscores the urgent need for response and support for civilian populations in conflict zones.
