Zelensky: Russia has intimidated Europe with drones to hold back missiles for Ukraine.
According to ТСН: Russia has intimidated its European partners for years with drones appearing over various countries in an attempt to prevent them from supplying missiles for foreign air defense systems during winter attacks on Ukraine.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in response to questions from journalists in the chat of the Presidential Office.
He noted that Ukraine is currently not receiving the necessary number of missiles, which 'partners hold back and do not deliver'. Zelensky added:
"Nevertheless, I am grateful, we receive certain quantities of supplies".
According to the President, Ukraine is currently unable to produce missiles for foreign air defense systems either independently or in collaboration with European countries due to the lack of appropriate licenses. He has addressed this issue with both the previous and current US presidential administrations.
Zelensky noted:
"I have raised this issue: Give us opportunities, give us licenses, let us produce with the Poles or Rumanians, with whoever you say. Production can be partially shared. But so far, there has been no such decision. Therefore, we are looking, buying, and receiving aid".
Recently, Germany's Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed the delivery of two additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, which Berlin had already promised in August, as well as the ninth IRIS-T system.
This situation underscores the importance of international support for Ukraine, especially given the increasing military threats. The provision of new air defense systems could significantly enhance the country's defense capabilities, but it also highlights the need for closer cooperation and faster decision-making on military supplies.
