France begins training brigade for AFU: Macron showed video of military training.
-
France launched a large-scale training program for Ukrainian military personnel on its territory, notably the brigade named after Anna of Kyiv, the French embassy in Ukraine reported.
-
The initiative is the first of its kind where France is training an entire Ukrainian brigade on its soil.
-
During the training, French weaponry and military equipment are used, allowing the conditions to be as close to real combat situations as possible.
-
The program provides training in a wide range of military disciplines and includes the preparation of command staff, infantry, and armored battle, engineering, air defense, and artillery.
-
Special attention is paid to the use of French equipment such as AMX-10RC light tanks, Mistral missiles for air defense, and CAESAR artillery systems.
-
By September 2023, France had trained about 15,000 Ukrainian warriors, conducting training both on its territory and in Poland.
-
French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed this information by publishing a video of the training and noting his commitment to support Ukraine.
-
Earlier, France invited EU countries to join the training coalition in Ukraine.
I have taken on this commitment: currently, our military is training 2300 Ukrainian soldiers in Grand Est, with the equipment they will use during the missions. The Anna of Kyiv brigade will be trained and equipped thanks to France's solidarity.
