FREEДОM Channel: Four Years on the Information Frontline

According to UATV: Marking its fourth year of operation, the Ukrainian international broadcasting channel FREEДОM has become a vital news source for Russian-speaking audiences abroad. Since its launch on March 10, 2022, the channel has amassed over 15 billion views across numerous platforms. It was established to provide reliable information streams for Ukrainians and others outside the country, filling a critical gap in the media landscape.

Expanding Reach and Influence

FREEДОM's broadcast footprint is extensive, transmitted via six satellites and carried by over 900 cable, DTH, and IPTV operators across 45 countries. The channel is also available on more than 20 international and national OTT platforms. Its significant impact is further evidenced by a YouTube subscriber base exceeding 3 million, demonstrating its popularity and role in informing the global Russian-speaking community.

In 2025, the state-owned 'MPIU' enterprise enhanced FREEДОM's programming, which helped to further grow its audience. A notable success is the sub-project FREEДОM.Caucasus, which has attracted 85,000 subscribers and 84 million views. A particular highlight was the speech by Yuriy Fedorenko, which garnered over 2 million views.

The channel actively distributes content in countries with high viewership, including:

  • Kazakhstan
  • Uzbekistan
  • Belarus
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • Tajikistan
  • Germany

The channel offers a wide range of popular content, such as the dialogue between Myroslava Petsa and Donald Trump, as well as addresses by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“For the FREEДОM international broadcasting team, these are four years of daily, very difficult work,” noted Yuliia Binn.
She added:
“But the truth, for which our colleagues worked, the enemy has not killed and will not kill.”

Thus, FREEДОM continues to solidify its position as a crucial information source for Russian-speaking audiences seeking timely news and analytical materials. The channel plays a significant role in providing informational support to Ukrainians abroad, especially under current challenging circumstances. Its growing popularity underscores a clear demand for trustworthy news sources within the global Russian-speaking community, which seeks to stay informed about events in Ukraine and the world. Continued expansion of the channel's content and accessibility can further integrate Ukrainian perspectives into the global information space.
