Dmytro Fialka was born in Lviv but later moved to Israel, where he received an education and citizenship. After returning to his homeland, he decided to stand up for Ukraine against the invaders. He tragically died near Bakhmut on September 1, 2022.
Dmytro Fialka died from a gunshot wound to the head in the battle for Bakhmut in Donetsk region when his daughter was going to her first day of school.
Legacy and Memory
In addition to his work as a coach, Dmytro was also a volunteer who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine after uniting with the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps. After his death, Dmytro's memory was honored by holding a tournament among coaching teams.
