The Prosecutor General announced the first results of the official investigation into the 'disability' of prosecutors.
Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin launched an investigation into the mass disability of prosecutors
Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin stated that he launched a large-scale official investigation as soon as information about the mass disability of prosecutors appeared in the media.
He noted that the investigation concerns not only prosecutors from Khmelnytsky region, but all levels of the prosecution, including the Office of the Prosecutor General. It is now established that 61 prosecutors from the prosecutors' offices in Khmelnytsky region are disabled. Most of them acquired their disabilities before the invasion of Ukraine began.
Kostin emphasized that it is very important to establish the circumstances under which the prosecutors acquired their disabilities, especially given the high number of disabled employees among the prosecution staff in Khmelnytsky region.
He urged all prosecutors, about whom there are doubts, to undergo a voluntary reevaluation and initiated the creation of a working group with international experts who will facilitate a comprehensive assessment of the situation and develop solutions to prevent such abuses in the future.
