NATO Secretary General Rutte warns against public discussion of the details of the peace agreement in Ukraine.
NATO Secretary General supports closed negotiations with Russia
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that discussions about a possible peace agreement to end the Russo-Ukrainian war should take place 'behind closed doors'. He made this comment in an interview with 'Voice of America'.
Why have these conversations on television now? Let's do it a bit behind closed doors, because otherwise, when Putin sits down at the negotiating table, he will already know what we are going to do
Otherwise, Rutte emphasized, Russian President Vladimir Putin would become 'more informed'.
He also added that the support for Ukraine from many European countries is 'unwavering'.
Meanwhile, regarding the likelihood of a reduction in American support for Ukraine after the election of the new U.S. President Donald Trump, the NATO chief noted that work with the future administration continues.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte suggested that Ukraine postpone any peace negotiations with the Russian Federation.
Furthermore, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump that America will face a 'terrible threat' from China, Iran, and North Korea if Ukraine is forced to make concessions to end the war with Russia. In an interview with the Financial Times, Rutte stressed that Ukraine needs a 'good deal' and urged the U.S. to continue military support. According to him, forcing Ukraine into an unfavorable peace will only lead to Western enemies 'rejoicing' and planning their own attacks.
President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the hardest question related to potential peace negotiations with Russia is the identity of the negotiator. Because currently, they do not want peace.
