Head of the European Commission to visit Ukraine: date announced.
Head of the European Commission to visit Ukraine
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will arrive in Ukraine tomorrow, where she will meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky. The main topic of discussions will be preventing problems with energy supply in Ukraine this winter.
The International Energy Agency states that Ukraine will face the most significant challenges in the energy sector since the beginning of the Russian invasion. Therefore, the European Union plans to increase support for Kyiv.
Let us recall that Ursula von der Leyen has already presented the new composition of the European Commission, in which several politicians will hold key positions regarding Ukraine. In addition, the European Commission is working on increasing electricity supplies to Ukraine.
The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine predicts that Ukrainians should be prepared for power outages lasting from four to 18 hours a day this winter.
