Ferrari and Stellantis head avoids prison: to pay a fine of 183 million euros.
According to inkorr.com: John Elkann, chairman of the boards of directors of Ferrari and Stellantis, has reached an agreement with the Italian prosecution in a tax fraud case. He will avoid imprisonment by paying a fine of 183 million euros and committing to perform community service.
Community service as part of the agreement
According to the agreement, Elkann must perform community service for a year. He may choose the place of work, for example, in a nursing home or a rehabilitation center.
The investigation by the Italian tax police began in 2024 due to the non-payment of inheritance taxes amounting to 800 million euros. Elkann's lawyer stated that his client did not admit guilt, but reaching an agreement with the prosecution helped to close the case.
The agreement with the prosecution has become an important milestone in Elkann's career, allowing him to avoid serious legal consequences. This may affect both the image and the business strategy of the companies he leads. Cooperation with the prosecution indicates his willingness to resolve the situation and continue his active involvement in business.
