Negotiations in Berlin: how American envoys discussed peace for Ukraine in a luxurious hotel.
According to ТСН: For two days, negotiations took place in Berlin between the Ukrainian delegation and American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner regarding a peace plan. During the meetings, they stayed at the legendary Hotel Adlon Kempinski, known for its luxurious service. Here, breakfast includes sturgeon caviar with champagne, and the cost of accommodation in presidential suites can equal the price of a new car.
Luxurious hotel in the center of Berlin
Hotel Adlon Kempinski is one of the most elite hotels in Berlin. Its apartments have previously hosted celebrities such as Queen Elizabeth II and Barack Obama. Although the exact rooms where Kushner and Witkoff stayed are not disclosed, the base cost of accommodation here starts from 500 euros per night. Suites like the Berlin Suite or Linden Suite cost from 2000 euros per night, while options like the Pariser Platz Suite, Adlon Deluxe Suite, Royal Suite, and Imperial Suite can amount to between 8,000 to 25,000 euros.
The hotel is famous for its history and significance: world stars, including Michael Jackson and the late Queen Elizabeth II, have stayed here. Hotel staff remember stories like that of Charlie Chaplin, who almost lost his pants while fleeing from fans.
Exclusivity of service
Hotel Adlon Kempinski impresses not only with views of the Brandenburg Gate but also with its infrastructure: it features a restaurant with two Michelin stars and a luxurious spa complex. The hotel is ideally located—only 10-15 minutes' walk to the Reichstag, Unter den Linden boulevard, and Potsdamer Platz.
The hotel was opened on the orders of Kaiser Wilhelm and quickly became a prestigious address in Berlin. After being destroyed during World War II, its restoration was completed in 1997 according to the original project by architects, adding new floors.
In 2017, the hotel lobby underwent a 6-million-euro renovation, where the famous elephant fountain—a precise copy of a gift from the Maharaja of Patiala—was installed.
Among the three restaurants, the most prestigious is Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer, offering a seasonal French menu with Asian accents under the guidance of chef Reto Brendli. The breakfast at Hotel Adlon Kempinski impresses even the most experienced gourmets—guests are served five types of sturgeon caviar in unlimited quantities with champagne.
It should be noted that after two days of negotiations in Berlin regarding the peace plan, American representatives stated that 90% of disputes between Ukraine and Russia had been resolved, including progress on territorial issues.
Despite the optimistic mood, President Zelensky confirmed the presence of discrepancies regarding possible concessions, stating that Kyiv has submitted its proposals to achieve a fair and effective peace plan for Ukraine.
Overall, the negotiations in Berlin became an important step in the search for ways to establish peace. The parties continue to work on the details to find compromises that could end the conflict and ensure stability in the region.
