Contract students will receive grants of up to 25,000 hryvnias through Diia: conditions

According to inkorr.com: Students studying under a contract in Ukraine have the opportunity to receive grants of up to 25,000 hryvnias to cover education costs through the Diia application. The amount of the grant depends on the results of the National Multisubject Test (NMT) and can cover partial or full tuition fees at universities. This was reported by the Diia portal.

Who can receive an education grant through Diia

The system works simply: if you are an applicant for the 2025 academic year and meet the criteria, the grant certificate will automatically appear in the 'Documents' section of the application.

The grant is calculated for the entire academic year and will be paid to universities in two installments: by December 1 for the autumn semester and by April 1 for the spring semester. The amount of financial assistance depends on the results of the NMT in two subjects and the chosen specialty, which motivates students to achieve high results.

The main categories of grants look like this:

  • From 150 points – more than 17,000 UAH (basic level, limited by specialties);
  • From 170 points – more than 25,000 UAH (advanced level, broader access).

How to obtain a certificate for educational expenses

You need to update the Diia application and check the 'Documents' section. The certificate must be confirmed by October 25, carefully checking the correctness of the data – full name, educational institution, amount, and specialty.

After that, a request must be sent via Diia.Signature, and the system will notify you of the result via push notification.

Restrictions on the use of educational grants

The first-level grant (from 150 points) has restrictions on some popular specialties due to funding priority: business, economics, international relations, journalism, hotel and restaurant business, tourism, dentistry, and philology (except for Ukrainian, Crimean Tatar, and folklore). However, other fields such as IT, engineering, or pedagogy remain open to the grant.

Diia ensures transparency: the university will receive funds directly, and the student will be notified of the transfer. This digital solution eliminates paperwork, making the process fast and accessible even in remote areas.

Receiving educational grants through Diia will become an important tool for students who want to reduce the financial burden of education. This innovation contributes not only to education but also to increasing the competitiveness of youth in the labor market, as it motivates them to study based on the results of external testing.

The grant system also makes the educational process less bureaucratic, reducing pressure and facilitating access to higher education for all students, regardless of their place of residence.
