Georgia detained Ukrainians with explosives: SDB investigates terror plans.
According to inkorr.com: The State Security Service of Georgia (SDB) reported the detention of two Ukrainian citizens, who were found with 2.4 kg of hexogen explosives. The men crossed the border in a Mercedes-Benz truck with Ukrainian plates.
One of the detainees is the truck driver, a Ukrainian named M.S., and the other is D.Z., who retrieved the explosives from a storage location in Georgia. During searches, they were found with various items such as mobile phones, computers, money, SIM cards, as well as the narcotic cocaine. Criminal cases were filed against the men according to the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The SDB says that the investigation must determine the purpose of the explosives - they are checking versions about a possible terrorist act in Georgia or the use of the country for transit.
Moreover, it is worth noting that the visa-free stay period for Ukrainians in Georgia has been shortened from three years to one year according to government resolution No. 255, adopted by Irakli Kobakhidze in April this year.
This news indicates the detention of two Ukrainians in Georgia with explosives at the border. The police are conducting an investigation to establish the purpose of using the explosives and potential threats to the country's security. It is also important to note that earlier this year, the visa-free stay period for Ukrainian citizens in Georgia changed, which may affect various aspects of cooperation between the countries.
