Changes in trolleybus routes
On October 23, the electric transport of ZKPME 'Zaporizhzhiaelectrotrans' will operate with restrictions. Some trolleybus routes will be changed:
#3 – '4th Southern Microdistrict – Zaporizhzhia Square';
#8 – 'Simferopol Highway – Zaporizhzhia Square';
#9 – 'BK ZalK – Sedova Street';
#14 – 'Simferopol Highway – Embankment';
#17 – 'Sedova Street – Zaporizhzhia Square'.
Trolleybus routes #1 and #11 will be temporarily suspended until the repair works are completed.
Changes in tram movement
Tram routes #3, 10, 12, 14, 15, and 16 will operate according to regular schedules but with some changes. The movement of trams #12 and #15 will stop from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM on the section between Ivanova Street and Shevchenka Street.
During the works, trams will run in a shortened format:
route #12 – 'Freedom Square – Meat Processing Plant';
route #15 – 'Freedom Square – Highway'.
The City Council explained that such restrictions are caused by the replacement of contact wire on Motorobudivnykiv Avenue.
Changes in bus routes
The movement of buses will also be changed according to the new schemes. However, the following routes will continue to operate without changes:
#7, 29, 34a, 38, 39, 56, 59, 71 (route 'Zaporizhzhia Square – 'Epicenter' shopping center' through Sobornyi Avenue, S. Serikova Street, Cosmic Street, international highway M-18 Kharkiv–Simferopol–Yalta);
#86, 94, 97, 98 (routes to the final stop 'Harnizonna Street').
At the same time, buses #17, 18, and 72, which run from Borodynskyi and Osypenkivskyi microdistricts, will move through Grebelna Street, Vinter Boulevard, Kiyashka Street, Academik Vesnin Street, Synenka Street, Nezoli Street, Ark Bridge, Khortytsia Island, Velychara Street, Metalurhiv Avenue, Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street, Zaporizhzhia Square, and Sobornyi Avenue – without entering Kiyashka Street.
Additional buses for passenger convenience
To avoid traffic jams, the city authorities have introduced additional bus routes. They will start operating on October 23 in the following directions:
'Pishchana Street – Metalurhiv Avenue' through Synenka Street, Nezoli Street, Ark Bridge, Khortytsia Island, Velychara Street, Metalurhiv Avenue (turning around near BK ZalK);
'Zaporizhvirt Cable Plant – Metalurhiv Avenue' through Dnipro Highway, Shchastlyva Street, Relieffna Street, Grebelna Street, Vinter Boulevard, Kiyashka Street, Vesnina Street, Synenka Street, Nezoli Street, Ark Bridge, Khortytsia Island and Velychara Street.
'Changes are temporary. After the completion of works at DniproHES, traffic will return to its normal schedule,' the transport department of the Zaporizhzhia City Council reported.
When will the usual movement resume
The works on the DniproHES dam and Motorobudivnykiv Avenue are planned to be completed by the end of the day on October 23. After that, the city transport should return to usual routes.
Thus, Zaporizhzhia residents can expect temporary inconveniences in the movement of public transport due to the repair works. However, after all works are completed, the situation should stabilize, and public transport will operate again in the usual mode. The city authorities urge residents to consider these changes and plan their trips in advance.
