Cunning traffic test — what trajectory to take when turning left.
In the task regarding knowledge of traffic signs and general rules, the driver of the yellow car must choose the correct trajectory to the store in the depicted situation.
The task was proposed by the channel 'Yes! According to the Rules'.
Answer options:
- By trajectory A.
- By trajectory B.
- Both trajectories are allowed.
- Both trajectories are prohibited.
Task analysis:
The driver of the yellow car plans to turn left to enter the store. However, in front of him is traffic sign 4.1 'Going straight' which allows movement only straight, prohibiting the turn according to trajectory A.
The action of this sign extends to the intersection before which it is installed. In the depicted situation, the sign is installed outside the intersection, meaning that the action of the sign extends to the section of the road to the nearest intersection.
According to traffic regulations, the territory of the store is an adjacent area that is not intended for through traffic. Therefore, movement according to trajectory B and then turning right is also prohibited.
