Russia attacked Kryvyi Rih: the dead and injured
Today, January 17, Russia launched an attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih. As a result of the enemy strike, an educational institution and residential buildings were damaged, and there are dead and injured.
According to local media 'Svoї', as a result of the occupiers' strike, 20-year-old Oleksiy Yakymenko was killed. The Russians killed the young man with a rocket near the entrance to the building together with his grandmother Alyona.
The boy was studying at a pedagogical university and intended to become a geography teacher.
After the first explosion, Oleksiy ran to the educational institution where his aunt works, who was not injured. They met and headed home. The grandmother came out to greet them to open the entrance door, but then the second explosion thundered.
Another victim was 45-year-old Oksana, a music art teacher at one of the Kryvyi Rih gymnasiums. She was killed by shrapnel in the car. Her husband Igor was nearby and managed to react; in 2022, he buried his first wife in occupied Kherson.
It should be noted that January 20 will be declared a Day of Mourning in Kryvyi Rih.
On Friday, January 17, Russia attacked Kryvyi Rih, resulting in four people being killed and seven injured.
After the attack by the Russians, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed condolences to the families and relatives of the injured and the deceased.
