Assistance to residents of Russia in territories occupied by the AFU should be provided through Ukrainian structures and humanitarian organizations

Assistance to residents of Russia who find themselves in territories occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be provided through the AFU, Ukrainian state and public structures, as well as through international humanitarian organizations. This was stated in a message from the Council of the Free Russia Forum, which was disseminated by 13th World Chess Champion and political figure Garry Kasparov.

"Two days ago, some of our colleagues from the 'Anti-War Committee' called for material support to be given to residents of the Kursk region affected by military actions in the region. There was even a proposal to collect funds for the affected residents of the Kursk region through the Russian Sberbank," the statement said.

The Council of the Free Russia Forum does not engage in a discussion with colleagues about the need to provide assistance to absolutely all residents of the Kursk region, including – supporters of Putin, who support the war he unleashed.

The Council of the Forum considers it unacceptable to collect funds through the structures of the Putin regime and participate in a campaign to support a group of displaced persons, among whom may be participants or accomplices in the criminal war.

The Council of the Forum is convinced that assistance to residents of regions who find themselves in territories occupied by the AFU should be provided through the AFU, Ukrainian state and public structures, and international humanitarian organizations.

"At least until structures of political representation of the Russian resistance are formed, able to take responsibility for organizing life in territories liberated from Putin's rule," the Council of the Forum noted.

The more territories are liberated from Putinism and the longer they remain outside Kremlin control, the more acute the question of creating such structures will become, believes the Council of the Free Russia Forum.
