In 2020, research revealed that the British became less inclined to take daily showers due to a hybrid working pattern. And while many people might initially feel uncomfortable with the idea of not washing themselves every day, specialists concluded that it might be better for skin health. According to dermatologist Mary Stevenson, the optimal frequency of showering is once every two to three days, depending on individual characteristics. She emphasized the importance of proper body cleansing, noting that it is not always necessary to wash the entire body with soap, but only certain areas that may become odorous. Gentle skin care includes using less aggressive washing agents that maintain the natural barrier and hydration of the skin. Specialists' recommendations include refraining from very hot and long showers to prevent the loss of beneficial oils on the skin.
