Iran attempted to influence US elections using artificial intelligence.

The company OpenAI has announced the suspension of Iranian accounts that used the ChatGPT chatbot to influence the US elections. This information was provided by The Hill.
A network called Storm-2035 used this chatbot to create content, including comments about candidates in the US presidential elections, which were then disseminated on social media.
ChatGPT was used to create articles that were published on five websites, allegedly progressive or conservative news outlets, as well as for writing short comments on social media in English and Spanish.
The content of the articles was dedicated to the conflict in Gaza, Israel's presence at the Olympic Games, the US presidential elections, Venezuela's politics, the rights of Latino Americans in the US, and Scotland's independence.
OpenAI noted that the accounts used during the operation were posting comments about fashion and beauty, possibly to appear more natural and attract followers.
Although these social media posts did not receive many likes, shares, or comments, OpenAI takes any attempts to use their services for external influence seriously.
The company shared intelligence information about threats with the government and parties.
It is worth noting that Iran attacked several individuals associated with Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Donald Trump as part of an ongoing phishing attack. The attacks targeted the personal email accounts of officials from various email providers.
