Russia launched the most powerful strike of 2026: Irpin is completely without electricity.
According to ТСН: Since 01:30, there has been a complete power outage in the Irpin community. This was the result of a massive missile and drone attack by Russia on Ukraine amidst severe frosts.
The mayor, Oleksandr Markushin, reported that a conversation has already taken place with the leadership of DTEK, and energy workers are actively working on restoring power supply. However, the details of the work are not currently disclosed due to the ongoing air alert.
Details
Additionally, it is noted that last night, Russia launched the most powerful ballistic strike in recent years, firing more than 25 missiles at Ukraine.
“I appeal to all heads of critical services: we are working in enhanced mode! The State Emergency Service, water supply, medicine, and other services,” emphasized Markushin.
Key Tasks:
Heat supply — all city boiler houses must be equipped with generators, as they have already been without proper heating for the fourth day.
Coordination of services — an urgent meeting needs to be held in the city council to create a special commission for crisis response.
Points of Unbreakability — organize heating stations in all areas of Irpin.
Local businesses are also called upon to support residents by providing opportunities for heating, charging phones, and offering hot drinks.
The authorities assure that the community continues its work, and all necessary decisions are being made directly on-site.
Situation in Kotsyubynske
Part of the village of Kotsyubynske has been left without heating. The village head Serhiy Danish reported that one boiler house is not operating, while others are functioning intermittently due to the need for generator breaks.
On January 12, Russia attacked the DTEK thermoelectric station again, damaging the heating plant's equipment.
“This is already the eighth massive attack on the company's thermoelectric stations since October 2025,” the agency emphasized.
Recall that on the night of January 12, Russia used ballistic missiles and drones against Ukraine. According to reports, Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel in the Kyiv region were almost completely left without electricity after the explosions.
Moreover, the occupiers struck energy facilities with ballistic missiles in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
This situation indicates an increasing tension in Ukraine's energy sector, especially during winter conditions. Authorities are trying to take all necessary measures to restore infrastructure and provide warmth and electricity to residents, as the frigid attitude towards consumers only increases the risks of social tension in the country. Only time will tell how quickly supply can be restored and the situation stabilized in the region.
