US President Donald Trump proposed to relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Jordan, but Jordan rejected this proposal.

The Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stated that Jordan is obligated to ensure that Palestinians remain on their land and that the refusal to relocate is unacceptable for them. He reaffirmed Jordan's firm stance in favor of a two-state solution.

According to the UN, almost 90% of the residents of Gaza have already been displaced, and more than 2.39 million Palestinian refugees already live in Jordan.

Donald Trump initially suggested to 'simply clear out' the Gaza territory and resettle Palestinians to neighboring Arab countries.

The President wanted their stay to be either temporary or permanent. He proposed to cooperate with Arab countries to build new housing for Palestinians.

It is reminded that Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement that includes the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza and the release of hostages.

The agreement resulted from negotiations supported by Egypt, Qatar, and the US.
