New Child Benefit Payments Approved by Ukraine’s Cabinet: Amounts and Timelines.
Updated Framework for Child Financial Aid in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine has introduced a new system for distributing child financial assistance, now processed through dedicated accounts and the digital payment tool 'Diia.Card'. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted Resolution No. 617, which sets the updated terms for supporting families with children.
A central initiative is the 'Baby Box' compensation, set at three times the subsistence minimum for children under six years old. Currently, this equals 8,451 hryvnias. Starting July 2026, financial aid will be disbursed no later than 14 working days after a decision is made, streamlining the process for recipients.
Additional Support Categories
Furthermore, each family member will qualify for a multipurpose cash benefit of 10,000 hryvnias. This updated mechanism also includes other forms of assistance, such as:
- childcare support for infants up to one year old;
- payments under the 'eYasla' program;
- the 'School Supplies Package' aid.
These reforms aim to ease the financial burden on families with children during challenging times.
The rollout of this new payment system could significantly improve the financial situation of many Ukrainian households, especially amid ongoing economic difficulties. The convenience of receiving aid through digital payment methods and faster fund transfers should make state support more accessible. These changes are expected to enhance the well-being of families with children and provide them with essential resources for healthy development.
