Forecasts and Safety Recommendations
Forecasters predict rain, wet snow, and fog across Ukraine. Given these conditions, rescue services are urging caution for anyone heading into the mountains.
“These mountains are not for casual strolls right now—they demand respect and vigilance. Take care of yourselves and plan your trips responsibly,” said representatives from the rescue service.
As a result, the weather in the Carpathians on March 19 stands in stark contrast to most of Ukraine, where temperatures remain above freezing—though those areas are also experiencing adverse weather.
These conditions pose a serious risk to hikers and tourists planning mountain visits, making it critical to follow rescue officials' advice. Expected rain and wet snow could further complicate road conditions, underscoring the need for careful planning and preparation when traveling in highland areas.
