Weddings Without Kids: What Children Really Think About the Ban.
Children's Bans at Weddings: Kids' Opinions
According to Vox: There are many places where adults try to avoid the company of other people's children — on planes, at home, at spas, and even fishing. But one of the few places where it is possible to enforce a 'no kids' rule is at weddings.
More and more couples who are planning their wedding are asking guests to leave their children at home. This decision has its reasons: perhaps they want the celebration to go smoothly, or they wish for their friends to enjoy the party until early morning with an open bar. After all, little ones could witness unusual dances!
Of course, adults, who were children themselves in the past, actively discuss the question of inviting or banning kids at celebrations. A multitude of questions arise: Should the newlyweds care about the children? What to do with infants? Or maybe there are exceptions for certain kids?
To understand children's opinions, I spoke with a few of them — Ronan (8 years old), Rafi (5 years old), and Ellie (5 years old).
Do you know what a wedding is?
Ronan: Yes.
Rafi: Yes, it's when people get married.
Ellie: Yes, you can wear a beautiful dress.
Would you ever want to go to a wedding?
Ronan: Maybe it would depend on whose wedding it is.
Rafi: Yes, I'm interested to see how people get married.
Ellie: Yes, because it seems fun.
If adults declared 'no entry for kids,' how would you feel?
Rafi: Sad.
Ellie: Bad. I don't like when adults don't allow kids to be present.
During our conversation, the children expressed a desire to be at weddings, at least when there aren't too few of them. They show interest in celebrations but do not want to be the only kids among adults. Research shows that children find these events uninteresting if their peers are not around.

Research confirms that kids have a positive attitude towards the idea of a wedding, but only if other kids are present. It is important to remember that the event organizers have the right to decide how the event will proceed. And those who cannot attend the wedding can always stay home.
