The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, confirmed the assault. He urged citizens to remain in shelters until the all-clear was given, stating:
"Kyiv is under attack by enemy UAVs. There is also a threat of ballistic weapons being used."
Separately, a drone attack on Kharkiv resulted in more than a dozen explosions, damaging buildings and causing casualties.
