Ukrainians will choose a name for the national AI: how to propose your variant.
Name for the National Language Model
According to ТСН: “Creating LLM is a national project that concerns millions of Ukrainians. Citizens will interact with the model through state services and business AI tools. It will be available for use in science, education, and defense. Now everyone can influence what the national AI will be called,” said Danylo Tsyvok, Chief AI Officer of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and CEO of WINWIN AI Center of Excellence.
Propose a name for the Ukrainian language model in the comments under the post on the social network “Instagram” until December 5. The ten best variants selected by the developers of LLM will go to the final voting in Diia. Thus, everyone will have the opportunity to participate in the choice of a name for the national model.
“LLM will be the foundation of the future ecosystem of national AI solutions. It is appropriate for as many Ukrainians as possible to participate in the choice of its name, as this LLM will become part of our digital identity, just like the .ua domain or Diia”, added Mykhailo Nestor, Director of Digital Product Development at Kyivstar.
As part of the voting in Diia, the authors of the best names will receive gifts from Kyivstar:
1st–3rd places — Samsung smartphone and a branded phone strap;
4th–5th places — JBL speaker and an annual maximum subscription to Kyivstar TV;
6th–10th places — branded phone strap and a three-month maximum subscription to Kyivstar TV.
The first version of the model will be presented by the end of 2025. After the testing period, the LLM will be available as an open-source solution.
Participation in the naming of the National Language Model is an important step in the development of Ukrainian artificial intelligence. It will not only engage the public in the processes but also emphasize the value of digital identity for the country. The national AI will become an integral part of everyday life for Ukrainians, and its name will reflect the collective values and goals of society.
