Kyiv City Administration Accused of Inaction Over Unconnected Generators for Troieshchyna.
Concerns Over Kyiv City Administration's Inaction
According to Novyny.live: The head of the Desnianskyi District Military Administration, Maksym Bakhmatov, has raised serious concerns regarding the inaction of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA). He states that the KCMA has failed to connect ten generators provided by Khmelnytskoblenergo for the Troieshchyna district, as the necessary connection documents have not been supplied by the city administration. This situation is particularly critical as Ukraine's energy infrastructure remains a target, making backup power sources vital for community resilience.
During an interview on the 'Kyiv Time' program on March 4, Bakhmatov pointed out that charitable organizations have provided more substantial aid than the city administration.
"We have received generators from benefactors: the Olena Zelenska Foundation, private companies, French companies, and the Polish Greek Catholic Church. We now have 3.3 megawatts of generator capacity. At the start, we had zero,"he noted.
Issues with District Heating
Bakhmatov also highlighted ongoing problems with the district heating supply in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv. He reported that while providing free meals to 150,000 people, his administration received '0 hryvnias from the KCMA for this initiative.' This food support was made possible solely through the efforts of charities, including:
- "Foodtruck"
- World Central Kitchen
- The Red Cross
- Other organizations
The situation in Troieshchyna, particularly regarding heating and generator connectivity, is causing significant alarm. Bakhmatov is urging the KCMA to take more decisive action. He stresses that the lack of proper action from the city administration on connecting generators and ensuring heating could have severe consequences for the local population, especially during winter. Effective coordination between authorities and the charities already actively supporting the community is essential to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
