When Ukraine will receive new Patriot systems - Merz named the term.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that the Patriot air defense systems will soon be delivered to Ukraine. He emphasized that this will happen within the coming weeks, as reported by ntv on Thursday.
'This is not a question of hours. It's a matter of days, possibly weeks, before the systems are delivered to Ukraine,' noted the chancellor.
Friedrich Merz also emphasized the need for clarity regarding how the new Patriot systems, which will be delivered from Europe, will be replaced by the United States. At the same time, the head of the German government highlighted that countries must support their own defense efforts. Moreover, Merz expressed hope that defense ministers will quickly reach an agreement on the replacement scheme.
Recently, the chancellor convinced US President Donald Trump to provide military assistance to Ukraine, and President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that Trump can contribute to ending the war in the country.
Ukraine expects the arrival of Patriot air defense systems soon, according to Friedrich Merz. The German chancellor emphasized the necessity of clarity and cooperation among countries regarding the replacement of the systems. Germany actively supports Ukraine in strengthening its defense, alongside the United States.
