According to ТСН: Dry air from the Barents Sea is already starting to affect the weather in Ukraine. Frosts will intensify on Christmas, and temperatures may drop to record lows.

Forecaster Vitaliy Postryhany reported this.

According to him, the lowest temperatures today have been recorded in Chernihiv region, where thermometers at the Pokoshichi meteorological station showed -13°.

“But this is not the limit. The plunge into winter is just beginning,” the expert notes.

When to expect the peak of frosts

According to the forecast, a peak cooling is expected on December 25. An anticyclone from the north will bring little cloud cover and dry weather, which will contribute to additional nighttime cooling of the air. Thermometers across the country will respond to these changes.

The next day, December 26, a cyclone will strengthen in the northeastern regions. Frosts will slightly decrease, however, snow and strong winds are expected, which may reach dangerous levels. Forecasters advise citizens to be careful and closely monitor the forecasts.

As a reminder, forecaster Natalia Holenya also noted that snow and frosts are coming. The cooling will occur due to the influx of cold Arctic air from the northern regions of Europe and even from the White Sea. From December 24, the temperature regime will begin to transition to winter.

Thus, Ukrainians should prepare for real winter weather. Plan appropriate clothing and be ready for possible snowfalls and strong winds. Remember that saved means saved, so it is important to follow the recommendations of forecasters and monitor changes in weather conditions.
