Russian soldiers received orders not to take Ukrainian military prisoners

The command of the Russian occupation army decided that their soldiers would not take Ukrainian military prisoners. This was reported by the press officer of the 1st separate tank Siversk brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dina Wong, during a telethon.

In the combat zone where Wong's brigade is located, Russians are actively attacking using armored vehicles.

Wong also noted that despite the challenging situation, the infantry is coping well with their duties and firmly holding their positions.

The spokesperson also mentioned that the Russians are trying to increase their infantry. Every operation of the Ukrainian army includes actions of tankers, artillerymen, and UAV operators.

According to ISW analysts, Ukrainian and Russian troops have advanced on the main Ukrainian front in the Kursk region. Geolocated images show the movement of Ukrainian troops west of Borok and Russian troop retreat east of Obukhivka.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, refuted Putin's statement about the encirclement of the Ukrainian army at the Kursk salient.

Note: The Kremlin has set a new deadline for the troops - to regain full control over the Kursk region by February 1, 2025. It is also planned to create a buffer zone in the territories of Ukraine by February 25, 2022.
